Yesterday I was so excited to get a big package at the post office. Who’s thinking of me? Walking back to the car, with Kutter on the leash, I came close to slipping on fresh ICE from melting snow, which froze on the sidewalk. It looked like glass. I caught myself just in time.
At Vineyard Scripts the woman at the counter recognized me and asked for my birthday. She smiled knowingly when she handed me my drugs.
Today I’m thrilled to have a car appointment to get my oil changed. It was due 01/25/25, so I’m only a year out of date.
Joyce is taking me out to b’fast at the Black Dog Tavern!
My chess buddy Bruce is taking me out to lunch at my favorite greasy spoon, Dock Street. (Some people think I’m already out to lunch.)
This afternoon I get to stand in the freezing cold and pass out meals to people who have signed up at the church. I’m slowly learning their names, after all three years!
Tonight, if we’re still awake, we plan to catch Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and dance the night away.
You might say I’m primed for this birthday.
Tom
PS – The big package? It was Community Coffee, a double order, shipped in 24 hours.

What an adorable child you were, Tom! (Love your mom’s saddle shoes.) Have a wonderful birthday!🎂
