Yesterday my ol’ man went over to America, so I was home with my missus. My ol’ man says one thing he misses living on the Vineyard is that there’s no Burger King where he can get an Impossible Whopper, which he loves.
Of course, if we did live on the other side, he’d be eating them every day. It’s like with ice cream, he (and I) have no resistance. We just love it, and that’s the way it is.
When he came home, we went for a nice long walk along the shore. The sun was starting to set, the wind was still blowing and chilly but walking quickly got us through without issue. It’s so pretty in the late afternoon. Then the sun sets and it’s night time already.
My ol’ man loves to take what he calls shadow photos: looking ahead down the road with his phone to capture our shadows walking along. I don’t see the point, but I guess there’s no harm done. It’s not as bad as feasting on Whoppers or ice cream, I suppose.
Today looks and feels cold again, in the high 30s. Another day for my winter coat. Our neighbor used to greet us on our walk by saying, “Here come the boys in blue,” because both my winter coat, and my ol’ man’s jacket are blue. That’s not that exciting, but I kind of like the idea of seeing the neighbors walking through the woods before they head off to Florida for a late wintry retreat.
Here’s a bumper sticker on my neighbor’s car and a shadow photo. There you have it.
