The Night Librarian
A Graphic Novel
May 10, 2026
My cousin Christopher Lincoln has published his first graphic novel, The Night Librarian. That makes three authors I know who are graphic novelists: my cousin, Paul Karasik and Christopher Ryan Jones.
What an accomplishment! It’s not easy to write a novel. To compose the images as well as the storyline takes an added artistic skill, not accessible to the majority of the writing public.
I ordered the book from Amazon and read chapter one. It grips me at the outset, and I’m well beyond the age of the typical middle-school student. Actually, I’ve shied from graphic novels until I read Paul Karasik’s New York Trilogy and was taken by it. Now The Night Librarian beckons; I will finish it shortly.
Christopher Lincoln’s 250-page tome takes place in a library, which is about as prominent a site for a book as anything. Amazon’s overview explains, “The Night Librarian: A Graphic Novel whisks twins Page and Turner into a hidden realm inside the New York Public Library, where a rare copy of Dracula unleashes literary heroes and villains into the real world.” The book jacket picks up the pace: “Things have gotten weird … things like a dragon imprint on the ceiling and a giant beanstalk! It turns out the books are busting with magic and suddenly all sorts of villains are escaping from their books and threatening to destroy the whole library.”
The challenge is for Page and Turner, and a few random book characters plus the unusual Ms. Literati, the night librarian, to rally and rescue the stacks from wanton destruction.
Using characters and plots of classic children’s stories is a successful means to capture the imagination and expand the enthusiasm of young readers. Cousin Christopher deserves a lot of credit for pursuing his artistic/literary talents; we wish him all the success.
Kirkus raves: “Charming, highly original, and sure to secure its own place in the graphic canon. The Night Librarian is available on Amazon.”

Congrats on yet another book! I was with a couple of kiddos from OB yesterday at museum. They told me they were excited about your new book as we enjoyed museums exhibits re marine disasters. Their grandfather shares their interest in local history. They plan to gift your book to him. I am hoping they will do so at an island bookstore. Like me, and you, they do not share Mr Bezo’s values. they shop locally, grateful for our island businesses. I am so sorry you mention Amazon instead of our wonderful island bookstores. I am also sorry you mention traveling off island to avoid higher prices at local businesses.
I love Kutters commentary as well as your other writing. I thank you for mentioning that you share aging issues I deal with at age 76. I read more slowly and deliberately. And choose carefully what I read-your writing is worth the extra effort!
Hi Tom. The book sounds terrific. I have to agree with Mary Beth, however. Here’s a link to the book on Bookshop.org, where people can support local indie bookstores instead of the broligarchy! Since it’s available there, I’m fairly certain folks could order it at Edgartown Books or Bunch of Grapes as well. https://bookshop.org/p/books/the-night-librarian-a-graphic-novel-christopher-lincoln/8c9f8b259425c3e2
